|The Benevolent Fund|
The Old Stocktonians’ Association administers, through trustees, a Benevolent Fund to provide financial assistance to “Old Boys and to pupils in attendance at the School”.
The first meeting of the Trustees took place on 8 February 1926 and the first grant was made on 16 February 1926. It was for £1-5s-0d (£1.25) and was to meet the expense of the term’s fees payable by a boy at Stockton Secondary School.
Since that first grant, many have been helped by the Benevolent Fund. The assistance is given either as an interest free loan, payable over a number of years, or as a direct grant, which is not repayable.
Convenors of the Trustees have been Evan Baldwin (1929 - 1965), Tom Sowler (1966 - 1991), Brian Brand (1991 - present).
Donations to the fund are always welcome and can be sent to the Convenor.
Appeals for assistance may be made in the strictest confidence to:
Mr M Clinton
Mr D Litchfield
Mr B P Brand
